My work is distilled to its essentials. Whether designing a system or framing a photograph, I am driven by clarity, structure, and the elimination of the unnecessary.
I navigate two distinct worlds. Design is my connection to function—it is collaborative, logical, and may use colour to guide and inform. Photography is my separation—a solitary act of observation that allows me to step outside the noise of the built environment.
For me, photography is a form of thinking and an exploration of unoccupied spaces. This practice began in the streets, documenting social narratives—an early focus that led to recognition in 2008. I choose to work with analog cameras and black and white film to embrace a slower pace. This process invites patience, allowing me to find the quiet architecture of the everyday: the texture of a decaying leaf, the curve of a shadow in a kitchen, or the geometry of light hitting a wall.
I look for the monumental in the mundane. While my design practice solves problems for how we navigate the world, my photography questions how we see it—finding order in chaos and depth in the silence.
Background & Recognition
Based in Toronto, I have worked in the creative field since 2004. My background in Visual Communication and Interdisciplinary Design grounds my artistic perspective. Regardless of the medium, my focus is to bring order to the visual landscape and find clarity in the complex.
